New Zealand has insufficient housing to meet the needs of our ageing and changing population

Only 2% of our housing stock is accessible, yet up to 30% of any regional population will need Universally Designed housing. This is a significant issue that requires careful analysis and planning to create a housing strategy that provides inclusive communities for everyone, including ageing and disabled people.

Lifemark® provides Universal Design and accessibility consulting for councils.

As well as delivering independent Universal Design standards for council projects, we offer supply-side analysis of building consents to identify the current levels of Universal Design and housing accessibility and inform long-term housing strategies.

Lifemark® currently supports Universal Design incentive programmes for five different councils. We also provide specialist advice on council-supported housing and facilities to ensure they truly meet the needs of the community and will stand the test of time.
